The 2026 NYAAC Mobile Dairy Experience Kicks Off Statewide
The Mobile Dairy Experience is officially back on the road for 2026, bringing hands-on dairy education directly to communities across New York State.
Launched by the New York Animal Agriculture Coalition (NYAAC), this traveling exhibit is designed to give people of all ages a closer look at how dairy farming works today, from how cows are cared for to how milk makes its way from farm to fridge. As the exhibit begins its second statewide tour, it continues its mission to connect New Yorkers with the farmers and processes behind the dairy foods they enjoy every day.
Mobile Dairy Experience Tour
The Mobile Dairy Experience is a 53-foot, double-expandable trailer that transforms into more than 1,000 square feet of interactive exhibit space. Inside, visitors can step into a modern dairy farm environment through immersive visuals, videos, and hands-on learning stations.
The exhibit is designed to make dairy education engaging and accessible, whether it’s visiting a school, a county fair, or a local festival. By bringing the farm directly into communities, the experience helps bridge the gap between consumers and agriculture, especially for those who may not have firsthand experience with farming.
During its first tour season in 2025, the exhibit welcomed thousands of visitors across the state. Now, in 2026, it’s expanding its reach even further, traveling from Western New York to New York City and everywhere in between.
Dairy Education Experience
The Mobile Dairy Experience is built around five key sections, each offering a different perspective on dairy farming and production:
Dairy Farming Basics
Visitors can learn how dairy cows are cared for at every stage of life, from newborn calves to mature cows. Interactive displays showcase feed, bedding, and daily farm routines.
Environmental Sustainability
Hands-on activities demonstrate how dairy farmers manage resources responsibly, including nutrient cycles and practices that protect soil and water quality.
Dairy Farm Technology
Modern dairy farming relies on advanced tools like robotic equipment, monitoring collars, and data systems that help farmers care for their animals more efficiently.
Milk Production Process
Interactive exhibits walk visitors through the process of producing milk and other dairy foods, helping connect the steps between the farm and the grocery store.
Dairy Careers in New York
The exhibit also highlights the wide range of career opportunities within the dairy industry, both on and off the farm, offering insight into the future of agriculture in New York.
Why Dairy Education Matters
As fewer people have direct connections to farming, programs like the Mobile Dairy Experience play an important role in providing transparent, accurate information about how food is produced.
By focusing on hands-on learning and real-world examples, the exhibit helps visitors better understand the care, technology, and science involved in modern dairy farming. It also gives farmers a platform to share their stories and build trust with the communities they serve.
New York is home to approximately 3,000 dairy farms, producing more than 16 billion pounds of milk each year. As the state’s largest agricultural sector, dairy plays a vital role in supporting local economies and providing nutritious food to families across the region.
Statewide Dairy Tour 2026
The 2026 tour officially launched in March and will continue throughout the year, with stops planned at schools, fairs, festivals, and community events statewide.
By meeting people where they are, the Mobile Dairy Experience continues to strengthen the connection between farmers and consumers, making it easier for New Yorkers to learn about the journey from farm to fridge.
Whether you’re a student, a family, or simply curious about where your food comes from, the Mobile Dairy Experience offers a unique opportunity to explore dairy farming in an engaging and meaningful way.
